Transition pathway for the Aerospace ecosystem: open call for commitments

Today, the European Commission launched a call for commitments to co-implement the transition pathway for the aerospace ecosystem

This call for commitments follows the publication on 7 June 2024 of the transition pathway for the aerospace ecosystem. It is the starting point of the co-implementation of the transition pathway.

We invite the ecosystem’s stakeholders, from SMEs and startups to larger companies, local, regional and public administrations, civil society groups and other interested parties to respond to this call. Only through an active participation of stakeholders will the pathway achieve the goal of accompanying the ecosystem’s transformation and make it a reality. The contributions to the call will allow deeper knowledge into concrete actions taken at the level of each organisation that can contribute to a more resilient, greener, more digital and competitive aerospace industry.

The commitments do not necessarily need to be new actions. If an organisation has an existing strategic engagement with a concrete target in the future and a clear contribution to a specific transition pathway action, it can be reported as a commitment.

The key elements for the commitments thus include:

  • ongoing or future concrete actions
  • with measurable targets (indicators), preferably with a planned date to be able to follow progress over time; and
  • linked to a specific transition pathway action.

Once collected and reviewed, pledges will be published online. This process will foster exchanges and cooperation among different stakeholders and will help identify best practices and exchanging knowledge.

The call for commitments will remain open on a rolling basis.
