Galileo at a glance
Galileo is Europe's Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) under civilian control. It has been operational since December 2016. It provides accurate and reliable positioning and timing information which is used in devices such as smartphones, but also in other applications and sectors of the economy such as railways, aviation, agriculture, maritime and more.
Galileo is three times more accurate than GPS providing 1 meter accuracy and a broad range of services.
