Eurosatory 2022

For the first time, the European Commission Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) will participate in the upcoming Eurosatory exhibition with a stand and organise information sessions about the European Defence Fund. This year, the event will take place from 13 to 17 June 2022. The Commission will be present throughout the five days.

Eurosatory is the largest land defence & security exhibition worldwide taking place in Paris every two years. It has been selected as the right occasion to showcase how the European Commission supports European defence industry cooperation, competitiveness and acts as an important institutional actor in Europe’s security and defence ecosystem.

Raising General Awareness for EU Defence Programmes

The objective of DG DEFIS presence at Eurosatory is to raise general awareness about DG DEFIS-managed R&D defence programmes, notably the European Defence Fund, by presenting funding opportunities,  defence research and development projects funded by EDF precursors, defence use cases of our space programmes, and other defence industry initiatives.

Informing about the EDF 2022 Work Programme

Furthermore, it represents a timely opportunity to promote participation in EDF calls for proposals, incl. the new 2022 calls for proposals (more info to come here and here). 

DEFIS will be present with a stand and organise 4 information sessions (see the official programme here) to reach out to potential applicants and Member States representatives, as well as to specialised media. These sessions would be focused on presenting EDF opportunities, the 2022 EDF Work Programme and calls and support for SMEs.
