Organized by the European Commission under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, this year’s EU Space Days will take place in Gdańsk, at the Amber Expo, just outside Gdańsk on the 27 and 28 of May. As home to the Polish Space Agency (POLSA), the city is a perfect backdrop for this exciting event.
EU Space Days 2025 will bring together top decision-makers, including representatives from leading European institutions, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors. The event will focus on the EU Space Programme, including its key components: Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus, GOVSATCOM/IRIS², and Space Situational Awareness (SSA). Panel discussions will explore the full spectrum of space activities, from downstream to upstream.
What’s New This Year?
This year, we’re putting a strong emphasis on fostering strategic partnerships between space companies and investors. For the first time, EU Space Days will be held alongside InfoShare, the largest tech and startup conference in Central and Eastern Europe. This collaboration creates the ideal environment to showcase how space policy, New Space initiatives, satellite data, and entrepreneurship are shaping the future. If you’re attending InfoShare, you’ll also have access to EU Space Days to join our sessions!
Space for defence and crisis management, secure communications, and access to space: Key Topics at EU Space Days 2025
Expect a diverse range of discussions on key topics like defence and civil protection, secure communications, and space access. The event will kick off with an interactive session featuring updates on the status of the EU Space Programme and a debate on its evolution to meet new and evolving needs and priorities of the Union.
A dedicated session will explore access to space, highlighting new space players in the ecosystems from launchers producers to customers, and how EU initiatives are enabling Europe to have independent, autonomous access to space for all Member States.
With the EU Space Strategy for Security and Defence, this year’s conference will also focus on how space technologies and satellite solutions can drive innovation in space for defence and defence for space, ultimately protecting European citizens.
Following the signature of the concession contract for IRIS², the EU’s multi-orbital constellation of 290 satellites for secure connectivity, a panel discussion will provide insights into the progress made, featuring perspectives from end users.
Additionally, there will be a session on how synergies between Galileo, Copernicus, and the soon-to-come GOVSATCOM are aiding crisis management and civil protection.
