To tackle the global plastic pollution crisis, the Union has launched a new competition for Marine Ecosystems Protection, as part of the CASSINI initiative, aiming at developing space solutions to track and remove marine plastic pollution.

More than 1,600 participants attended the EDF 2022 Info Days, which took place in hybrid format in Brussels on 30 June and 1 July. The wide participation confirmed the strong interest of the EU defence industry in the European Defence Fund, managed by DG DEFIS of the European Commission.
