Webinar on 1 September to introduce the new capability
The European Commission and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) will host a webinar titled “Introducing the new Galileo authentication service, OSNMA” on 1 September 2025 at 14:00 CEST to present Galileo’s new authentication service, the Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA).
A new era for secure satellite navigation
On 24 July 2025, the OSNMA service was officially declared operational, accompanied by the publication of its Service Definition Document (SDD). This marks a major milestone for Galileo and for global users of satellite navigation.
OSNMA provides authentication of Galileo’s Open Service navigation messages, enabling users to confirm that the information truly comes from Galileo and has not been modified. This capability significantly enhances protection against spoofing, a growing threat as interference events increase worldwide.
What to expect at the webinar
The event will feature presentations from the European Commission and EUSPA, highlighting:
- The role of OSNMA in enhancing GNSS resilience
- Key elements of the Service Definition Document
- Guidance on implementation in receivers
Participants will also hear from leading GNSS receiver manufacturers, supported by EUSPA’s Fundamental Elements Programme, who will share their experience integrating OSNMA into commercial solutions. Real-world use cases will demonstrate performance and applications across multiple sectors.
Who should attend
The webinar is designed for:
- Receiver manufacturers and application developers
- GNSS integrators and service providers
- Industry stakeholders and professionals interested in secure navigation
