Galileo Launch 14

On 17 December 2025, two new Galileo satellites are scheduled for launch from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. This mission, carried out on the fifth flight of Ariane 6, Europe’s new modular heavy-lift launcher, represents another significant step forward for the satellite navigation component of the European Union Space Programme and for Europe’s space strategic autonomy.

To mark this important milestone, the European Commission is organising a launch event at the Berlaymont on the morning of 17 December 2025

The event will notably include a keynote speech from Commissioner for Defence and Space, Mr Andrius Kubilius, statements from several Members of the European Parliament, a high-level panel discussion with representatives from DG DEFIS, EUSPA, ESA and Arianespace, as well as a panel discussion with the Galileo user community. This will be the occasion to reflect on the mission, its strategic relevance and the future of Europe’s space policy, programmes and applications.

Please RSVP by filling in the form  [by Monday 15 December 18:00]

*In case of launch programme changes, participants will be informed via email beforehand. In the meantime, keep an eye on our social media and website for further updates.
