Launched in April 2024, the EU Space ISAC continues to expand, with its membership steadily growing. With a new application deadline set for the end of May, this initiative— which began with just 12 founding members— has nearly tripled in size, now welcoming 40 members. And the momentum isn’t slowing down. The EU Space ISAC is actively seeking new members to strengthen and represent the full spectrum of the European space industry.
A European initiative, built for EU companies
The EU Space Information Sharing Analysis Centre (ISAC) is a collaborative network of European space companies and public partners dedicated to enhancing security preparedness, response, and risk mitigation. By sharing expertise and working together, members aim to fortify the resilience of the EU space sector.
Rooted in the EU Space Strategy for Security and Defence (EUSSSD), published in March 2023, the EU Space ISAC was created to bolster the security of Europe’s space industry amid growing threats to space operations.
Driven by its members
The strength of the EU Space ISAC lies in its members. Open to EU companies and public partners, this initiative fosters collaboration across a diverse range of organizations—from startups and SMEs to large industrial groups. This diversity, already reflected in the original 12 founding members, continues to be a defining feature.
Structured around thematic working groups, the EU Space ISAC enables members to tackle key challenges such as security threats, best practices, and industry standards. As the initiative evolves, new working groups will be introduced to address emerging concerns and opportunities.
What’s next?
One year in, the EU Space ISAC is not just growing—it’s evolving. Now comprising 40 members, the initiative remains open to new applicants to further broaden its reach across the European space industry.
Looking ahead to 2025, the EU Space ISAC is set to strengthen collaborations with other EU and international ISACs, enhancing information-sharing, addressing common security challenges, and launching joint initiatives. With space security more critical than ever, this initiative is shaping the future of a resilient and united European space sector.
