The Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) is pleased to announce the second edition of the EU Access to Space Conference, a yearly event convening experts from the space ecosystem.
This edition will focus on translating policy ambitions into actionable strategies for ensuring Europe's sovereign, resilient, and cost-effective access to space.
Under the theme “Ready to Launch: From Policy to Orbit”, the conference will focus on turning policy ambition into concrete action to strengthen Europe’s sovereign, resilient and competitive access to space.
A central part of the programme is the "Long-Term Vision for European Space Transportation”, with a session that will explore how European institutional actors are aligning around a shared ambition for autonomous, competitive and sustainable access to space, while addressing key challenges and defining the strategic priorities and implementation principles needed to turn ambition into action.
Discussions will also take stock of Europe's evolving launch services market — now shaped by a growing community of emerging private companies — and examine how the European ecosystem can strengthen and accelerate competitiveness in launch services.
Another major focus will be ground infrastructure for Europe’s access to space. This session will address what Europe needs to do to make ground infrastructure an enabler for sustainable access to space, including launch infrastructure, capacity and investment, resilience and security, and test infrastructure.
