This morning, the European Commission adopted a EUR 1.5 billion multiannual work programme under the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP), the new EU initiative to strengthen and modernise Europe’s defence industry, ramp-up production capacity, and secure Europe’s technological edge and resilience. Over EUR 700 million of EDIP are dedicated to reinforcing European defence production and European companies can apply to receive funding to increase production of targeted components and products, such as energetic components, key electronic components, defence platforms, and end-products, as well as missiles, ammunition and bombs and (counter-)drone systems. Funding rates for successful projects are between 35-100% of eligible project costs, depending on the respective call.

You can find more details in the press release and on the new EDIP webpage. On the webpage you will also find tutorial videos to explain to companies which opportunities they have under EDIP, what the timelines are and how to apply for the respective Calls. The first calls will open today and the very first call on energetic components will already close mid-June.
